Products and your catalogue

Products give Mimir your full catalogue: names, descriptions, prices, stock, categories and brands. With it, Mimir can recommend products, answer questions about them and show product cards in chat.

You'll find it under Agent → Products, with two tabs: Products and Sources.

Connecting a catalogue

Go to the Sources tab and click Add source. Two options are self-serve:

Google Merchant Feed — use a product feed URL and map its columns.

Shopify — connect your Shopify products and choose which metafields to include.

Google Merchant Feed runs as a short wizard: enter the feed URL (with a username and password if it's protected), then map the columns — product ID, SKU, categories — then review.

Shopify asks which description metafields to include and which regions apply. Shopify itself is connected first under Settings → Integrations.

If you run a platform that isn't listed, talk to us — several others are supported but are set up on our side rather than self-serve.

Keeping it current

Product sources sync nightly. Each source card shows when it last ingested, and a Sync button triggers an immediate refresh.

This nightly cycle explains most "Mimir gave the wrong stock level" reports: the answer was correct as of the last sync. If accuracy at the minute level matters for a particular question — live stock, live order status — that belongs in a skill, which fetches the answer at the moment it's asked, rather than in the catalogue.

Bringing a large catalogue in from scratch takes time, and a new market's products won't be available until that first sync completes. Worth planning around if you're launching a new region.

The red "Error" badge

If you see a red Error chip next to Products in the sidebar, or a Failed to ingest badge on the Products page, it means the most recent sync from at least one product source failed.

We monitor this and are alerted automatically, so in most cases the team is already on it and you don't need to do anything. If it persists across more than a day, get in touch.

Steering which products Mimir suggests

Settings → Product Search lets you put a thumb on the scale.

Boost Products takes brands, categories and specific products that Mimir should prefer when suggesting products. This doesn't override what the customer actually asked for — it's applied as a last step to push certain products ahead of equally good alternatives.

Deprioritize Products is the opposite: brands, categories and products Mimir should avoid suggesting. They'll only come up if they explicitly match what the customer asked for, or if nothing else fits.

Anything you don't list in either card is treated normally.
